What will coverage cost for my children?
After you apply, we will send you a letter with our eligibility determination. If your children are eligible for low-cost or full-cost coverage, we will tell you your monthly cost for premiums for your covered children.

CHIP premiums can only be changed with the approval of the Pennsylvania Insurance Department.
Premiums are billed and due in advance of the month being covered. We provide flexible payment options, including check and money order payments and recurring credit card and debit payments, to help make paying premiums convenient for you.
What happens if premium payments are not made, or not made on time?
If your children are enrolled in low-cost or full-cost coverage, and you do not pay applicable premiums by the due date, coverage will stop. Coverage will end automatically on the last day of the month that coverage has been paid for.
If your children's coverage stops due to non-payment, you may be subject to a six-month waiting period from the date that CHIP coverage ended before your children can be covered again.
